Valborg night

Swedes celebrate annually the last day of April and they call it Valborg night celebration. This tradition is coming from the time when heathenism among the religious people were considered as witchcraft. The religious people took spring celebration of hedonists mistakenly with witches who gathered to make evil spells, spread diseases on ordinary people and their cattle.
Nowadays it is a public celebration. People gather in the woods or parks to light a large fire and sit or dance around it. Students arrange a parade where they have an opportunity to pronounce to the public their thoughts about political life or other hot issues and protests.
